I am cannot find the motif that I have in mind?

Do not hesitate to contact us if you cannot find the motif that you are looking for. We do have more motifs than we are able to show on the webiste so may have just the thing that you are looking for.

I like the animal motif that you offer but can I have it painted in a different colour?

Yes becasue all our motifs are handpainted we are able to paint them in whatever shades you wish. For example pets, horses and livestock can be painted as you wish from a photograph or drawing at no extra charge. We do our best to provide this service but customer's must be aware that even when working from a drawing or photograph the motifs are still subject to the artistic interpretations of our artists.

Can I have a motif made to my exact specification?

Yes our motif artist can model a photo or drawing from clay and then we can use this to cast you a unique motif. Houses, pets, livestock, pastimes and views of scenery and wildlife can all be made as you wish. Prices are around £75 for an average sign/ postbox size for a simple motif (such as an animal) and can increase depending on size and complexity of the motif.

I am not sure if the layout for my sign/ postbox that I have chosen will look right?

How should I care for my Rock Foundry cast metal signs and postboxes?

All our signs and postboxes are cast fron non-corrosive aluminium, they are powdercoated to a very high quality finish and then the details are handpainted by local artists using hard-wearing enamel paints. The best way to care for your sign or postbox is to wipe it over with a soft cloth dampened with plain water (afterwards you can dry with a soft dry cloth to acheive a polished look) once in a while to stop dirt building up and potentially eventually attacking the paintwork.

I have an old metal sign. Can it be refurbished?

All our signs and postboxes are designed to withstand years of outdoor life. If however you have one of our signs that you feel needs refreshing (we have been making signs for over 30 years!) we are happy to undertake this. In general the cost of this service is half the cost of the current retail price of the particular product. We will burn the paint off the sign taking it back to its aluminium state. We will then powdercoat it to a high quality finish and lettering and motif details will be handpainted as it was originally or you can choose new colourways if you wish. We reserve the right to refuse to refurbish an item if it was not originally made by us. In some instances other metal signs may not be fully cast or may be made of inferior grades of metal which will not withstand our processes. We would judge the viability of refurbishing these signs on an item by item basis.

I cannot find the exact size of sign that I am looking for. Can you help?

Because all our products are handmade by us we are able to cater for any size of shape and sign. We have previously made signs of up to 14ft in length! This service is best reserved for customers who require a large size sign, a special commemorative sign, a bespoke business/ farm sign or a range of street or instructory signs. Our patternmakers need to be involved in the process so it is not generally an economically viable option for the average house sign. The cost is from £100 and can rise depending on size and complexity of the project. It is worth contacting us if you require a different size to those that we offer as sometimes we already have templates (including street signs) not listed on our pricelist that may meet your needs.

I want a built -n postbox but my builder is due to start work on our wall next week?

There are two options available. First we will dispatch our standard size rectangular built-in postbox (with or without a 220mm liner) in black and with the lettering POST (in white, gold, cream or silver) at the top within 7 days (UK only). Alternatively, it is possible to build the wall leaving the appropriate hole size. We have recommendations for the hole size to be left wthin the descriptions for each of the postboxes. What is the VAT rate?

As of 4st January 2011 the VAT rate has changed to 20%. Prices of products on our website include VAT at this rate.

Can I send to multiple addresses?

Yes, individual items of your order can be sent to different addresses. There will be a separate delivery charge for each different address.

Can I cancel or amend my order?

We are unable to cancel personalised orders due to the specific nature of each product. All our products are made to order and therefore cannot be cancelled. Please make sure you double-check the spelling of names or messages and make sure that you’ve typed them into the website correctly when you place your order

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

We aim to dispatch postboxes with 4-6 weeks of the order being placed. House signs, numbers and weathervanes within 4-5 weeks of the order being placed.

What if I need my item by a specified date?

Please let us know as soon as possible if you require your item by a specified date. We will try our best to accommodate your request but being able to fulfil it will depend on time of year and workload.

How is my order dispatched?

Postboxes and large signs (generally signs of 30" and over) are dispatched by courier. Smaller signs are sent with Royal Mail. For full delivery details please click here.

What should I do if my order arrives damaged or items are missing?

In the rare event of an item arriving damaged or where there are items missing from your order please contact immediately either by email or by calling 01327 351561. Notification is required within 5 working days of receiving a damaged or incorrect order.

Can I make a cheque payment?

Yes you can pay by cheque. Just print this order form. Then fill in your details and the items you would like to buy and write a cheque payable to Rock Foundry - don't forget to include the delivery charge. Send your completed order and cheque to Rock Foundry, Lakeside, Litchborough Road, Duncote, Towcester, Northamptonshire. NN12 8AL.

Alternatively you can place a telephone order on 01327 351561 during working hours (8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday) which will be processed when your cheque has cleared.

Please note that we only accept payment by cheques written from a sterling/UK bank account. So £s (Pounds) only please.

How do I get regular updates about new products?

Register your details with us and we'll keep in touch with you. You can choose to receive news by email or by post

Can I purchase gift vouchers?

Yes. You can purchase gift vouchers online through the Gifts section of the website. Alternatively you can telephone 01327 351561 between 8.30-5.30pm Monday to Friday and we can process your gift voucher order.

How can I see what I have purchased in the past?

How secure are my details?

Rock Foundry values its customers and respects their privacy. Any information we collect about you is held with the utmost care and security. We do not pass your details onto 3rd parties and our site does not remember credit card details.

We do not store any credit or debit card details in any format whatsoever.
